Okay, I'm running another contest. Name this object. The depth of field is real, most of the contrast was there, I simply made it monocrome and picked the tint I liked best. This should be fun. E-mail me your guesses and I'll post the winner next week (if there is a winner). What will you win you ask? How about a full resolution PSD of this image? :) Or maybe the pride of it. Oh, I know, an Oregon quarter. I have uncirculated Oregon quarters coming out my ears...you can have one. Heck, you can have one if you guess :) I'd like to know how many people actually read/view this blog :)

I am really enjoying taking traditional senior poratrait poses and turning them into something a little more modern. Something a little more artistic. Let me know what you think of this one.
Okay, I know this isn't a senior photo blog, but I just had to post this one too. The dramatic lighting is because it was almost 7pm and the sun was low. I arranged her back to the sun to get the highlights on her hair and on the ivy. Then, I used a light reflector to bounce that warm light onto her face. I really like the results. I may have to have more evening photo shoots. The dramatic light is so much more interesting than shots taken mid-day.
My first real attempt at a "high-key" photograph. I really like it and the family of my senior really likes it. I played around with the color temperature, exposure, contrast, and a few other things to achieve these results. I think it's a fun photo for a senior. I like the way her eyes and hair really stand out.

I had another photo shoot today. It was a lot of fun, but I am very very tired now. I have been working way too much. This is my favorite photo (I think) from the shoot today. Let me know what you think!

Guest Entry - Link outside of this blog
David Nightingale is a photographer that has greatly inspired me. I look forward to new entries on his photoblog. This week I thought one of the entries was simply stunning. So, I thought I would share. I'm not going to post his photo because of copyright issues, but here is a link to the entry at his photoblog. If you like browsing other people's photos, you may want to add "chromasia" to your list of photoblogs to visit on a regular basis. Go David!
