Casualty of War

The battle for toilet training has been going very well. Mikayla is doing wonderful! However, we have not escaped unscathed. At 6:40 PM yesterday my chair received a near-lethal wound. I guess it could have been worse...I am glad the accident only had to do with #1, not #2 ;o)

But no, really - Mikayla is doing VERY good! Accidents are few and far between. See Krista's blog for more potty training updates.

Lip Gloss Disaster

We had a lip gloss incident this afternoon. Mikayla disappeared into the bathroom - we thought she was going potty. Little did we know that she was in fact getting purple lip gloss EVERYWHERE.

Funny True Story

I heard this funny true story from a member of the Credit Union this week:

A woman was playing the slot machines in Las Vegas when she won! She won $125 in quarters. An employee of the casino gave her a bucket for her winnings. "I'm going to go take this back to the room," she told her husband. As she headed towards the elevator, two large black men started to follow her. They got in the elevator with her and she was very uncomfortable. "Hit the floor," she heard from behind her. She instantly jumped down onto the floor, spilling all $125 of quarters in the elevator. Once she was on the floor and she saw the men chuckling to each other, she realized that they had meant to press the button for the floor. Embarrassed, she started to pick up the quarters. The large black men helped her. When they reached her floor, the men asked her if she would like an escort to her room. Not knowing what to say, she said yes. They followed her to her room and once there she ducked inside, slammed the door, and locked it. She could hear laughter from the other side of the door. The next morning room service arrived with flowers and a note. The note read, "We are sorry if we scared you yesterday, but we laughed harder than we have in a long time. Thank you." It was signed, "Michael Jordan & Scotty Pippen".

After a fun, long morning

Today I have the day off work for Presidents' Day. Krista & the girls & I met up with another couple and went to the Gilbert House and the Salem Carousel this morning. Lily was so tired when we got home that she slept through Krista bringing her in the house...

Annie's Laptop Fix

Zach and I fixed Annie's laptop tonight. CLICK HERE for all the pictures!! Her power connector broke. You know, the part on the inside of the laptop that the power cord plugs into? Yeah... Well, Zach and I took it apart, soldered a new connector on, and then put it back together. It took about 2 hours and was a TON of fun. I documented it all so we could share:

New Flash

With birthday cash I was able to purchase a Canon 430EX Speedlite. I am very excited about the new possibilities for my photography! Tonight I quickly setup a tripod with my flash and extension cable and shot from under the light at a bouquet of roses that I got Krista for Valentines day. I was very happy with the results. I quickly touched up the image in Photoshop and then did a couple tweaks in Picasa.

Shooting with a flash is so much fun! Thank you everyone who gave me cash for my birthday! I have wanted a flash for a long time!!

Google Talk within Gmail...LIVE!

I just logged into my Gmail account and found that I could now use Google Talk within my web browser! Google has been telling us it was coming, but now it's here! But, it isn't showing up on all Gmail accounts on all computers...in case yours isn't there yet, here is what it looks like:
