Are you looking for movies that have recently come out? There hasn't been too many recent notable movies though Reign Over Me (Don Cheadle & Adam Sandler) exceeded my low expectations for it.
Stardust
Pan's Labyrinth (subtitled, so you have to be able to read or speak spanish)
Babel, also subtitled at times (in several languages, learn to read)....In fact an entire afternoon watching Magnolia, Crash and Babel (not sure what would be the best order) would be cool.
Fur is very good.
